According to al-Sumaria news website, the source said the explosion happened near a cement factory in the west of the province.
Severe clashes erupted between security forces and Takfiri terrorists in the area after the blast, the source added.
So far, there have been no reports of any casualties in the car bomb explosion.
Iraq has been the scene of a campaign of terror by the Daesh (ISIL or ISIS) Takfiri terrorist group.
Daesh unleashed its campaign of death and destruction against the country in 2014, seizing the northern city of Mosul and declaring it as its so-called headquarters.
Iraqi armed forces and Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), also known as Hashd Al-Shaabi, have liberated Mosul and much of other Iraqi areas occupied by Daesh terrorists.
