Student Quran Contest Underway in Saudi Arabia
TEHRAN (IQNA) – The 9th edition of a Quran competition for university students in Saudi Arabia has been underway since February 25 in Jeddah.
According to Sabq newspaper, 500 students from 21 public and private universities of different parts of the Arab country have participated in the Quranic event.
Memorization of the entire Quran and memorization of 20, 10 and 5 Juzes (parts) along with observation of Tajweed principles are the four categories of the competition.
Winners will be awarded 500,000 Saudi Riyals, according to the organizers.
Salahuddin Bauthman, a member of the organizing committee, said that the event, which is being hosted by the University of Jeddah, is the greatest student Quran contest in Saudi Arabia.
The competition will continue for five days at the Faculty of Educational Sciences of the university.
