Terrorists’ Attempts Futile in Face of Iranian Nation’s Resolve
Speaking at an open session of the parliament on Sunday, Larijani expressed condolences to families of the martyrs of the terrorist attack and wished speedy recovery for the injured.
He said the enemies are using every means against the Iranian nation but they will fail to achieve their objectives given the strong resolve of the nation.
Larijani further said the country’s security bodies need to take the issue of security very seriously and root out terrorist elements.
During the military parade in Ahvaz, which was staged concurrently with nationwide military parades on Saturday to mark the Sacred Defense Week, Takfiri militants wearing disguise opened fire at the people participating in the ceremony.
The political deputy governor of Khuzestan Province, Ali Hossein Hosseinzadeh, put the latest death toll from the attack at 25, saying 60 others have been injured.
According to media reports, the Al-Ahvaziya terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
