A briefing session was held on Sunday for the contenders to get familiar with the regulations of the contest.
Iran’s representative Maryam Shafiei also attended the session.
Shafiei, who is visually-impaired, was selected as Iran’s representative a few months ago and has been preparing for a powerful presence in the international Quranic event.
She started learning the Quran by heart at the age of 6 by listening to recorded Quran recitations and managed to memorize the entire Holy Book in a few years.
Jordan’s 2018 international Quran competition for women is slated to be held in the Arab country’s capital, Amman, from March 19 to 24.
