850,000 Quran Memorizers Trained in Iran

TEHRAN (IQNA) – Some 850,000 individuals have so far learned the Quran by heart in Iran.

They have participated in the National Quran Memorization Plan, secretary of the national initiative said Saturday, IRIB News reported.
Hojat-ol-Islam Hosseini Naqavi noted that the National Quran Memorization Plan is a 4-year plan that started in the country in 2012.
The Quranic plan got underway after the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution called for training ten million Quran memorizers in Iran.
Various organizations and government bodies including the Awqaf and Charity Affairs Organization and the Education Ministry are involved in implementing it across the country.
