Hindu Extremists Launch Violent Assault on Muslim-Owned Shops in Haryana

TEHRAN (IQNA) – In an alarming incident that unfolded in Panipat, Haryana, a targeted assault was perpetrated by armed assailants on local Indian Muslim-owned shops.

This violent episode, which transpired on Sunday, has not only resulted in significant property damage but has also instilled a pervasive sense of apprehension among the affected shop proprietors regarding their personal safety and the uncertain viability of their business enterprises.

The town of Panipat, Haryana, bore witness to a disturbing display of aggression as a group of armed assailants executed a meticulously orchestrated attack, zeroing in on shops belonging to the local Indian Muslim community.

According to the Indian outlet the Hindu, this calculated assault was characterized by the invaders' forceful entry into the shops, accompanied by the menacing display of swords and knives, which created an environment rife with threats and intimidation. During the course of the attack, the assailants brazenly looted cash reserves and inflicted extensive harm upon properties, compelling certain shop owners to abandon their establishments under duress.

This outburst of violence spanned across three distinct locations within the district—Krishna Garden, Ujha Gate, and Indo Farm Road—prompting a palpable sense of unease among the area's residents. Intervention by law enforcement officials resulted in the apprehension of 15 individuals suspected to be linked to the attack.

A comprehensive investigation is currently underway, encompassing the meticulous scrutiny of surveillance footage and the solicitation of eyewitness testimonies, aimed at both identifying potential additional culprits and tracing the provenance of the weaponry employed during the assault.

Mohammad Nihal, owner of a meat shop, was among the victims significantly impacted by this violence. He recounted the distressing atmosphere that prompted the temporary suspension of his business operations due to concerns over his family's safety.

Similarly affected was Abdul Wahid, a maulvi, who found himself deeply traumatized by the incident, leading him to provide sanctuary for children within a local mosque amidst the tumultuous assault.

The assailants' intentions went beyond material damage, as they resorted to religious coercion, compelling Muslim men to vocalize Hindu slogans under duress.

Mohammad Ahtasham, a victim of this disturbing episode, found himself in the unfortunate position of surrendering his financial assets while witnessing the destruction of his livelihood.
